Community Submission Guidelines

The Community Memory Map is built by neighbors. Anyone can add a photograph or a memory — no account needed. These guidelines keep the archive accurate, respectful and genuinely useful to the people of Brazoria County.

What we welcome

• Historical photographs of Brazoria County
• Family photographs showing recognizable Brazoria County places
• Memories of businesses, schools, neighborhoods and communities
• Historical landmarks
• Local events
• Everyday life
• Industry
• Transportation
• Storm and hurricane history
• Other material documenting Brazoria County's past

What may be declined

A submission may be rejected if it contains:

• Spam
• Unrelated content
• Intentionally false or misleading information
• Material submitted without appropriate permission
• Harassment
• Private personal information
• Inappropriate or illegal material

How review works

Every submission is reviewed by a moderator before it appears publicly. Moderators may make minor corrections to spelling, formatting, categories, dates, descriptions and map locations so the archive stays consistent and accurate. Your original submission is always kept on file exactly as you sent it.

Submitting does not guarantee publication. Retro Brazoria County may decline or remove an entry when necessary to maintain the archive.

Dates and attribution

Approximate dates are completely fine — "Circa 1955", "1950s", "Summer 1978", "Before 1965" or "Unknown" all help. Photographer, source or collection details are optional; many family photographs have no formal source, and that is welcome here.
